If a student had a challenge with a specific spelling or punctuation error on a test and was unable to come up wi th a 'correct word', they would turn to the dictionary. Even though they may know the word, they don't know the spelling and if they hear that the word is not used in that way, they may use the dictionary to help them get it right.Students who take an English composition course can learn how to introduce themselves correctly. Once they have understood the difference between spelling, grammar and punctuation, they can be given the words to introduce themselves by either asking for it or by finding it in the dictionary.
